About Me…
Jana Middlebrook
HCPC registered Orthotist, BSc (Hons) Prosthetics and Orthotics, MBAPO.
Qualifying from the University of Strathclyde in 2012, I started my Orthotic Career at Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH). Treating a very diverse range of patients. Working closely with experienced orthotists and AHPs, I developed my skills in specialist Orthotic areas including: Diabetes, Neurology, Major Trauma and Paediatrics.
Moving on from NUH, I spent four years at Dudley Group Hospitals (DGH), a large hospital specialising in vascular medicine. The smaller team at Dudley enabled a more specialised role within the Orthotic service. As an Orthotist, I was an integral part of the Stroke Rehab, Spasticity Management Clinic. During my time at DGH and the excellent Corbett Rehab Centre, my experience and problem-solving skills for Neurological Orthotics developed, and I realised a strong passion for this area of the profession.
When the opportunity arose to join the Ottobock Academy Team, I jumped at the chance to be part of such a well-renowned global company. Over the past 8 years, I have worked with Orthotists and Physiotherapists across the UK and Ireland. Supporting them with complex patient caseloads, delivering national certification programmes in advanced Orthotic technology and lecturing on orthopaedic orthotics solution, stance control orthosis, functional electrical stimulation and neuromodulation at Keele, Gloucester, Salford and Strathclyde University.
As of June 2026, I will bring my years of industry experience to homes across Shropshire, providing neurological and orthopaedic orthotic solutions through my new business, Severn Orthotics.
